RSGB Contest Results 70MHz Contest CW 2014
v4.145 by G4CLA

70 MHz CW 2014

Worryingly in this fifth year of the event both the numbers of entries and the number of stations active fell.  Only 50 stations, a fall of 20%, were active in G, GM, GW and PA.  A number of portable entrants had problems with the strong winds.

Conditions were generally rated as poor.  The best contact was between G3TCU/P and GM0USI at 575 kms.  There were only 13 contacts greater than 400kms of which 5 were greater than 500kms.  A number of entrants commented about the length of the event and the sparseness of contacts in the third hour.  In fact 16% of all contacts took place in the last hour which included valuable multipliers for many.

This year sees new winners in both sections.

Congratulations go to:

  •  Phil G3TCU/P who won the Open section, and as overall leader the G3JYP Cup;
  •  Terry G3MXH for winning the SF section;
  •  The other certificate winners who are identified in the results tables.
